Film Pascamodernisme klasifikasi dari film-film yang mengartikulasikan tema dan gagasan pascamodernisme melalui medium cinema. Film-film ini bertujuan untuk menumbangkan konvensi-konvensi mainstream dalam struktur naratif dan penokohan serta bertujuan untuk menguji rasa tak percaya penonton terhadap apa yang mereka lihat.[1][2][3]
Salah satu karakteristik utama film postmodernis adalah pendobrakan batas antara seni tinggi dan rendah. Film-film ini sering kali mempertanyakan dan menjungkirbalikkan penggambaran tipikal mengenai gender, ras, kelas, genre, dan waktu. Tujuan utamanya adalah untuk menciptakan karya yang unik dan tidak mengikuti ekspresi naratif tradisional.[4]
Film postmodernis sering kali menampilkan teknik seperti pastiche, parodi, dan ironi. Mereka juga cenderung mempermainkan konsep realitas dan ilusi dalam cerita, serta mengkaji ulang sejarah dan budaya populer. Film-film ini tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai hiburan, tetapi juga sebagai sarana untuk mengkritik dan mengeksplorasi berbagai aspek sosial dan budaya.
