Jason Thomas Butler Harner[1] (lahir 9 Oktober 1970) adalah seorang aktor asal Amerika Serikat yang dikenal karena perannya sebagai Agen Khusus FBI Roy Petty di Ozark.
Kehidupan awal
Harner lahir di Elmira, New York dan tumbuh di pinggiran kota Virginia Utara, di mana ia menonton beberapa teater di Arena Stage, Washington, D.C.[2] Nama tengahnya, Butler, adalah nama gadis ibunya.[1] Ia lulus dari SMA TC Williams, Alexandria, Virginia pada tahun 1988.[3] Meskipun Harner adalah presiden klub drama sekolah menengahnya, ia menghabiskan waktunya untuk membangun set daripada berakting.[4]
Pada usia 17 tahun, setelah lulus SMA, ia bekerja sebagai pengantar di Teater Eisenhower, bagian dari Kennedy Center di Washington, D.C.[5]
Ia lulus dari VCU dengan gelar Sarjana Seni Rupa dalam bidang akting pada tahun 1992. Setelah lulus dari VCU, ia magang di Actors Theatre of Louisville; ia kemudian pindah ke New York City dan menerima gelar Master of Fine Arts dalam Program Akting Pascasarjana dari Tisch School of the Arts pada tahun 1997, di mana ia diajar oleh Ron Van Lieu.[6] Harner kembali ke VCU sebagai Guru Master selama program Artis Tamu 2007-08.[7]
