Lee Earle "James" Ellroy (lahir 4 Maret 1948) adalah seorang penulis dan penulis esai fiksi kriminal Amerika Serikat. Ellroy menjadi terkenal karena gaya prosa telegrammatiknya dalam karya terbarunya, di mana ia sering menghilangkan kata penghubung dan hanya menggunakan kalimat pendek staccato,[2] dan secara khusus untuk novel The Black Dahlia (1987) dan L.A. Confidential (1990).
