Peran film Burnett meliputi Pete 'n' Tillie (1972), The Front Page (1974), A Wedding (1978), The Four Seasons (1981), Annie (1982), Noises Off (1992), dan Horton Hears a Who! (2008). Di televisi, dia memenangkan Emmy Award atas peran tamunya di Mad About You dan muncul di beberapa spesial dengan Julie Andrews. Dia dinominasikan Tony untuk perannya di Moon Over Buffalo (1995). Baru-baru ini dia berakting di Better Call Saul (2022), Palm Royale (2024), dan Hacks (2025). Dia merekam memoarnya In Such Good Company (2016) yang membuatnya memenangkan Grammy Award.[6][7]
Pada tahun 2019, Golden Globes menciptakan Carol Burnett Award atas pencapaian kariernya di televisi, memberikan Burnett penghargaan pertama.[8] Dia mendapat kehormatan dengan acara spesial NBC Carol Burnett: 90 Years of Laughter + Love untuk merayakan ulang tahunnya yang ke-90.
