Phlebovirus adalah salah satu dari empat genera pada famili Phenuiviridae dalam ordo Bunyavirales. Genus ini terdiri atas 10 spesies.[1] Nama genus ini berasal dari Phlebotominae, vektor dari Sandfly fever Naples phlebovirus, yang berasal dari bahasa Yunani phlebos, yang artinya "vena".[2]
