Melocactus glaucescens adalah spesies tumbuhan dalam keluarga Cactaceae. Spesies ini endemik di Brasil. Habitat alaminya adalah area berbatu dan gurun panas. Spesies ini terancam oleh kehilangan habitat.[1]
Melocactus glaucescens diidentifikasi dari penampilannya yang glaukus (berlapis lilin) dan sefaliun-nya yang sering kali berwarna putih kekuningan. Warna sefaliunnya bervariasi sedikit berdasarkan populasinya.[3]
