James Ephraim Lovelock CHCBEFRS (26 Juli 1919 – 26 Juli 2022) adalah seorang ilmuwan independen, envinronmentalis, dan futurolog Inggris. Ia terkenal karena mengusulkan hipotesis Gaia, yang menyatakan bahwa biosfer adalah entitas yang dapat mengatur dirinya sendiri dan mampu menjaga kesehatan planet kita dengan mengontrol lingkungan fisik dan kimianya.[2]
