Grapsus grapsus adalah salah satu kepiting paling umum di sepanjang pesisir barat benua Amerika. Spesies tersebut dikenal sebagai kepiting batu merah, atau, bersama dengan kepiting-kepiting seperti Percnon gibbesi, sebagai kepiting Sally Lightfoot.
