Aegyptopithecus, yang berarti "Monyet Mesir", dari bahasa Yunani Αίγυπτος (Mesir) dan πίθηκος (kera atau monyet), adalah antropoid awal yang hidup sebelum perpisahan hominoid (kera dan manusia) dengan cercopithecid (monyet Dunia Lama). Antropoid ini dikenal dari satu spesies, Aegyptopithecus zeuxis, yang hidup sekitar 35-33 juta tahun yang lalu pada masa awal Oligosen. Aegyptopithecus kemungkinan menyerupai monyet Dunia Baru.^[1] Fosil-fosilnya kebanyakan ditemukan di Mesir.

Aegyptopithecus zeuxis ditemukan oleh E. Simons pada tahun 1965 di Formasi Jebel Qatrani, Provinsi Fayum, Mesir.^[2]^[3] Terdapat kontroversi mengenai apakah Aegyptopithecus merupakan genus tersendiri atau sebaiknya dimasukkan ke dalam genus Propliopithecus.^[3] Jika Aegyptopithecus ditempatkan di dalam genusnya sendiri, maka hanya ada satu spesies yang telah ditemukan yaitu A. zeuxis.^[3] Spesimen tipe untuk spesies tersebut adalah CGM26901.^[2]
