Album keduanya Spellbound (1991) memberinya dua lagu lagi yang menduduki puncak tangga lagu – "Rush Rush" dan "The Promise of a New Day".

Dia menerima kredit koreografi di banyak film, termasuk Can't Buy Me Love (1987), The Running Man (1987), Coming to America (1988), Action Jackson (1988), The Doors (1991), Jerry Maguire (1996), dan American Beauty (1999). Dia menerima 17 nominasi MTV Video Music Award, memenangkan lima, serta menerima Grammy Award untuk Video Musik Terbaik atas "Opposites Attract" pada tahun 1991. Dia menerima Primetime Emmy Award untuk Koreografi Luar Biasa dua kali atas karyanya di The Tracey Ullman Show, dan penampilannya sendiri di American Music Awards pada tahun 1990. Abdul mendapat penghormatan dengan bintangnya sendiri di Hollywood Walk of Fame, dan merupakan penghibur pertama yang mendapat penghargaan Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards' Hall of Fame Award.

Kehidupan awal

Abdul memiliki saudara perempuan bernama Wendy.
